How To Have The Perfect Valentine's Day When You're Single

Valentine’s Day is almost here! This celebration of love and romance can sometimes make even the most confident single people feel like they’re missing out but that doesn’t have to be the case!

Just because you’re single on Valentine’s Day, doesn’t mean you can’t have a great time celebrating the day of love. Here at The Jelly Bean Factory, we want everyone to enjoy Valentine’s Day, that’s why we’ve come up with these tips on how to have the perfect valentine’s day when you’re single!

How To Have The Perfect Valentine's Day When You're Single

Spend Time With Friends or Family

Spending time with friends or family is a great way to enjoy Valentine’s Day when you’re single. You could throw a party for all your single friends and celebrate your freedom, take your best friend out to dinner or simply spend time catching up and having fun with your family.

Spending time with the people you love is a great reminder of the fact that romantic love is just one of the many different types of love we experience. Society places a huge emphasis on romance but that doesn’t mean we should value it higher than the love we feel for our closest friends and family members.

Watch Your Favourite Film or TV Show

If you don’t feel like socialising, why not put on your comfiest clothes, grab a blanket and settle down to watch your favourite film or TV show? Make the most of not being in a couple and choose exactly what YOU want to watch with no compromises. Make sure you have your favourite drinks and snacks to hand. Our Snack & Share Jelly Beans are perfectly sized for movie marathons and binge-watching TV and best of all, you won’t have to worry about anyone else nabbing your favourite flavour!

Spend Valentine’s Day in Nature

Spending time in nature is good for both your mental and physical health. Being outdoors in nature can improve your mood and has been shown to reduce stress and feelings of isolation or loneliness. It makes you feel more connected to your local area and community. Being in nature can also help you see the bigger picture and give you a fresh perspective.

When we talk about spending time in nature, people often think about going for a walk in the countryside and whilst that’s a great option, it’s not the only way to enjoy nature.

If you have a garden or outdoor space you can spend time there, growing plants or vegetables, cutting the grass or watching the birds. You could visit a local park, go beachcombing or just take your dog (or someone else’s) for a walk!

Whatever you decide to do, don’t forget to dress for the weather and take a drink and a snack. Our Grab & Go Jelly Beans are great for when you need a quick energy boost on the go!#

Try Something New

One way to have the perfect Valentine’s Day when you’re single is to try something new! Take the opportunity to visit a new place, try out a new skill or take up a new hobby. Have you always wanted to learn how to salsa dance? Or maybe there’s an art class you’ve been thinking of joining or a new sport you’d like to try?

Trying something new is an excellent way to spend your Valentine’s Day when you’re single as it takes the emphasis off love, romance and relationships and puts the focus back on enjoying yourself and having fun.

Do Something For Others

Helping others spreads the love, makes us feel good about ourselves and is a great way to have the perfect Valentine’s Day when you’re single. Take the time to visit an older relative that you don’t see very often or offer to babysit for a friend or loved one who could use a break. Alternatively, you could volunteer for an organisation or help out a local charity for the day.

Treat Yourself!

Being on your own this Valentine’s Day shouldn’t mean missing out. Make Valentine’s Day special by treating yourself.

You could book a Valentine’s Day massage or manicure or treat yourself to an at-home spa day with a face mask, a fluffy robe and a glass of fizz. You could simply cook your favourite dinner, light some candles and run yourself a bubble bath. Do whatever makes you happy, after all, you’re worth it!

Just because you’re single, doesn’t mean you don’t deserve a Valentine’s Day present too! Why not treat yourself to flowers, jewellery or one of our Jelly Bean Gifts?
